In 2013, SPF Foods launched its flagship brand, The Monk, introducing a distinctive Indo-Chinese fusion concept that blends authentic ingredients with modern techniques. From its very first outlet, The Monk gained popularity among families and food lovers alike.
By 2025, SPF Foods had expanded The Monk to four outlets across Dubai, serving diverse communities and cementing its reputation as a leader in Indo-Chinese cuisine. Today, SPF Foods continues to grow, driven by its commitment to culinary excellence, customer satisfaction, and sustainable practices.

Rooted in Tangra, Kolkata—the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine—The Monk carries forward a culinary legacy forged in fire and seasoned with soul. In the late 18th century, Chinese immigrants, primarily from the Hakka community, brought their cooking traditions to India, blending ancestral techniques with local Indian spices to create a bold new cuisine that captivated palates for generations. Today, we proudly honor this heritage while elevating it with modern techniques and presentation.
